For several years I'm trying to get seeds of the (annual) phacelia fimbriata. Up to this moment without succes. I's a beautiful woodlander from the Smoky Mountains.
Does anyone grow them? Or has seeds? Or know a source to get them?

Yesterday it was +27C and lots of newly emerging plants suffered. Today the weather is more spring like with milder temperature and rain.
I took these pictures yesterday.

A couple of Epis raised from Gerrit's seed a year or two back .Although the labels have faded and are illegible ,(Duh !!), it's of no real concern as it only adds to the anticipation of eventual flowering...

Various small plants and seedlings of Hepatica nobilis and H. transsilvanica are in bloom here, thanks for the prolonged warm spell (now tempered by a return to cooler, windy conditions).
Kicking off this starter message on Epimedium 2014. I hope to start into some research on new varieties available from a number of nurseries. But for tonight, just a photo of a selected unnamed hybrid of mine that has deep chocolate foliage in spring, contrasting well with pure white flowers above the foliage.
Last Sunday we went to an Open Day at a nearby wholesale Hellebore Nursery, Post Office Farm, run by a friend, Peter Leigh.
Peter took a group on a tour of the nursery and we got to see "behind the scenes" of a very well run operation. Here are some pics

To start here's Sauromatum horsfieldii .
Two years ago I picked up a Dysosma pleianthum X veitchii...it is doing very well and for the first time has buds this year. Hopefully it will be open in the next 2 weeks. Perfect camouflage foliage!
I understand that there are some "bleeding hearts" (eg the Dicentra "Eximia") that have an extra long flowering period (unlike "Spectabilis"). I am interested in the specific "eximia" known as Red Fountain. I am wondering if anyone has had experience with this red flowered variety.
