NARGS member Rex Murfitt, of Victoria, British Columbia, Canada, died in August 2019 at age 92. Rex wrote “Creating and Planting Garden Troughs,” co-authored with Joyce Fingerut and published by Betty Mackey Books in 1999. He wrote many articles for the Quarterly on drabas, saxifrages, and sempervivums and received the NARGS Carleton R. Worth Award in 2002. Rex joined NARGS in 1968.
